Immanence Magazine Online is a central place for the sharing of ideas and self-expression through (but not limited to) the written word. It is an online database of posted articles, essays, opinion letters, poetry, fiction and non-fiction writings, and more (you can even embed YouTube videos).
The underlying purpose of Immanence Magazine is to educate, inform, and inspire. Share your ideas, research, and knowledge with the community of the world-wide web!
How Do I Use this Website?
Left-hand Column
The entire left column is where you'll find all the links and tools needed to interact with Immanence Magazine Online. The box in the top-left is the gateway to posting articles and letters, as well as participate in polls and forums (you can initiate forums as well).
The "Browse Article Database" box houses the entire database of posted articles categorized by department. Feel free to rate articles and post comments—especially if you disagree with the contents or have more info to add. Please elaborate to ensure that your comments are valued.
You may also choose to register an account if you wish to include your profile on our page of contributors (coming soon).
Get your writings published in print!
Upon posting your writings you can choose whether or not you would like us to consider your submissions in the bi-monthly printed editions of Immanence Magazine.
Right-hand Column
The entire right-hand column is home to the bi-monthly printed editions of Immanence Magazine. You can browse articles categorized by issue, and if you are a subscriber you can also access the databank of issues in PDF format for downloading or on-screen viewing.
The "Immanence Online Store" box is where you can subscribe to the "Immanence on Your Doorstep" subscription service, as well as order back-issues individually or as yearly collections.
Our Mission:
The purpose of bringing Immanence Magazine into the world is threefold:
• To provide an Open Source-style format for news, opinion letters, and the sharing of ideas.
• To promote sustainable-living ideals and alternative health and healing concepts.
• To promote the cultural aspects that make Powell River worthy of being dubbed a Cultural Capital of Canada. This includes articles on local art, literary, and cultural events and a comprehensive listing of events.
About Immanence Magazine in Print
Immanence Magazine is a print publication produced and printed quarterly in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada with a community-minded focus. It provides a medium for the open sharing of ideas and knowledge for the betterment of its readers.
Currently, the quarterly physical circulation is 1800 copies which are distributed freely throughout the Powell River community in restaurants, cafes, locally owned new and used bookstores, among other locations.
Immanence Magazine is also available through Sunshine Organics' home delivery service, and now also through subscription for those wishing delivery to right to their doorstep anywhere in the world.

Sustainably Produced
Immanence Magazine is printed on 100% recycled paper (from 100% post-consumer sources) using a chlorine-free process. Our paper stock is manufactured in a mill that sources 85% of its power onsite by burning biomass (wood waste that is otherwise burned or deposited into landfills).
The term Open Source originated as a software development term wherein the general public was invited to add or make changes to improve the source code of a piece of software.
Before the implementation of our fully interactive website on May 1, 2009, Open Source Media referred to the first few pages of the printed version of the magazine where news and opinion letters submitted by the general public were published.
Our new website now realizes the full potential of Open Source Media by allowing citizens of the web to post content (including related photos) directly to our website. Submitted content may be subject to editing for grammar and spelling only when used in the print editions of , however all edits will be transparently tracked.
As a check, we also invite the general public to post comments below submitted articles for further discussion. If you ever read anything that disagrees with the facts as you know it, please post a comment on this website to voice your concerns.

What does 'Immanence" mean?
Immanence, derived from the Latin in manere "to remain within", refers to philosophical and metaphysical theories of the divine as existing and acting within the mind and the world around us.
The term "immanence" is usually understood to mean that the divine force, or the divine being, pervades through all things that exist, and is able to influence them. It implies that divinity is inseparably present in all things.
